The only file of interest was called "2004SIP.img". The readme file states
IMPORTANT! September 30, 2005
Documentation may indicate the use a file named i2004tftp.cfg
This is an error. The correct name of the file is 2004tftp.cfg
Likewise, there may be references to a file named i2004sysConfig.dat
This is also incorrect. The correct name of the file is 2004sysConfig.dat
Likewise, there may be references to a file names i2004SIP.img
This is also incorrect. The correct name of the file is 2004SIP.img
The files in this directory reflect the correct file names.
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
Systems upgrading from MR 3.5.2 and earlier to MR 3.5.3 and later must
have another copy the file 2004tftp.cfg on the TFTP server with the name
i2004tftp.cfg. IP Phone 2004 phones running a firmware version less than
or equal to 0692D93c02 require a valid file named i2004tftp.cfg to exist
on the TFTP server to allow firmware upgrades or downgrades. All later
versions of IP Phone 2004 SIP firmware require a valid file named
2004tftp.cfg to exist on the TFTP server for up/downgrades, but the
file named i2004tftp.cfg is not required.
Both of these files can exist on the same TFTP server at the same time.
Their content should be identical.

I would be keen to find out if the I2004 phones could be made into SIP IP phones as I didn't think it was possible. Check the link below.
