i1140e With KEM

We have a BCM50 rls 3.0 and a i1140e with KEM unit but the KEM unit does not light up. This is the first time I have installed the KEM and was not sure if it should light up. Do I have a bad KEM or is there somewhere in programming that allows this?

I think you need the external power supply if you want it to light up.

For the backlight to work you do need the external power supply.

i ran into the same problem, you do need a power supply....I hate crapping up my desk with all those cords, but for some reason there isn't enough POE power to make both work.

Another issue is if you have an 1165E color phone (I don't know if this set works on the BCM or ever will), the KEM is still light blue with dark letters while the 1165E is full color.
