I wish to have my computer, which is being used as the backup system for my whole home network, to be able to have my daughter log on to mine and be able to access her my documents and such things that she saves on her computer. Is there a way to set up some sort of home directory? I dont want her to have to go though the my network places or anything like that.

Jay,

Create a user account with the same name and password on your computer that she uses on hers. Then share her My Documents folder from her computer. Have her log on to your computer and map a drive to her share:

\\ComputerName\ShareName

Be sure to click the check box to Reconnect at Logon.

Good Luck!

...or you could set her up a Roaming Profile.

Just a thought,

you need NT/2k/2k3 server for roaming profiles.....

Do this:

Share out her "My Documents" on her machine ( normally C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents )
On your machine, while logged in as your daughter, right click on "My Documents" and set the target to the share name on her computer. ie \\computername\sharename. This should then synchronise the two "My Documents"...
