Well, IF you must, you just need to be really careful in drawing the line(s). They NEED to be EXACTLY the heightof the section and (obviously) MUST be aligned to the top.
IF I were [/i]forced[/i] to do this, I would manipulate the lines as a group, making SURE they were all aligned to the top , and setting the top to Zero. Initally, make them all a little bit 'taller' than the (tallest) controls in the section. Place them in their approx locations, and the remaining controls between them, adjusting as necessary to achieve the general spacing desired. Re-select them as a GRoup and reduce the height to approx (but GREATER than the tallest control(s). Reduce the section height to the height of the vert. Lines. The SECTION CANNOT have any control set to cangrow.true
All of that said. The results are (IMHO) very un-professional in appearance. I would normally opt for just changing the background of each detail record (or more usually group of n records, like the old line-printer paper.
