I want to go back to win 98

A friend of mine was using win 98 but later upgraded it to windows ME. He found out later that Win ME is not compartible with a software he's been using and wants to go back to Win 98. Any ideas the easiest way to go by this?

Howdy:

If ME was an upgrade version and all he did was an upgrade (not a clean install) then he should have the option in Add/Remove to revert back to Win98.. Just follow the prompts..

If they did a clean install, then they are going to have to reformat and install 98 from scratch.
