i want to do a wr erase, will I loose my vpn capabilities

Hi guys,

I wanted to do a wr erase on my 506e pix to start from scratch but i was worried about loosing my ability to have vpn.

is there any way i do this? what about the running activation key? what does this do?

should i just delete line by line?

can i back up my startup config into an image if so how? I'm currently using pumpkin for tftp.

Hello
You will lose all the configuration.But the activation key will remain.You can copy the config to the tftp sever,but I would prefer just pasting it to notepad.So you can edit what you don't need and then replace the importante bits of the config like the VPN,interface setting,NAT,etc.

thanks. I just did not want to loose the ability to be able to set up VPN.
