I/O Address of CDROM

I have a Matsushita CDROM drive on my 486 and want to install the drivers for win 3.1. I managed to download the drivers but upon installation its asking for me to input the I/O address (300-6FF)>

what should i put? or how do i find the I/O address?

is it assuming it's an external CDrom, do you have your cDrom manual, have you tried asking the company, typically the first choice is the default, and if that doesnt work I'm sure you could try others as well. What type of drive is it, meaning what controller/interface is it connected to...Sounblaster, SCSI, IDE etc...

if its running on your primary IDE as a slave 1f0,14 if the address is Master on the secondary IDE 170,15

usally this goes in the config.sys file, edit this file from dos
and add the following to your cd driver

looking something like this

device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:mscd001 /p:1f0,14
