I booted to the erase utility and started over with the configuration. Duting the boot the lights on the drives light up sequentially, the smart array controller 3200 is found, but has no logical drives.
I run smartstart, and configures the hardware.
When I look at the configuration for the controller, the menu tells me to use the array configuration utility. When I run the acu, I get a no controller detected...

I ran the array diagnostics, and the controller is found, but has no logical drives.

Any Ideas?
Thanks

What model server is this? Did you run the hardware configuration from the SmartStart CD and did it find the 3200?

-Jeff

it is a proliant 3000. The smartstart that I have is on floppies not a cd.

What version of SmartStart are you using? I've never seen a floppy version but I would try obtaining a version 5.5 CD.

Theoretically it is 5.5. I got it from dnsplus for 7.95, that I found in another thread on this forum. It was said to be the iso image, but it was just an executable to make the four floppy discs.

Got the iso. Configured and installed Fedora Core 3 with no problems.

Thanks to all.
