Hi All

I am trying to delete an old MS Exchange Server computer from in my exchange tree.

I get an error message saying that I cannot delete the MS Exchange Server Computer "computer name" because it is still active - please shut the server down and try again.

MS Exchange is not installed on the system I am trying to delete and shutting it down does not make any difference.

Please Help

You have to remove servers while they are still online so that one server can tell the other that they not on speaking terms, Exchange communication is a two way thing.

You will have to reinstall exchange on the old machine re-establish comms then remove and uninstall.

Or just live with the missing server
