Hi

I would use 'watchman' software to protect my workstations. Cheap, easy to configure (you 'grab' current windows), lightweight, very effective and very secure, and there is a free trial period. You can get it from download.com.

Sounds like you may have the same problem I have. I installed win 98 on a standalone AMD Duron chip PC with no internet connection desired at all. Every 10 - 15 seconds, I get an error window that tells me it's unable to connect to the internet and do I want to work offline or retry. No matter what I select, the window continually pops up. How can I get rid of this problem. I installed Win 98 second edition? Thanks in advance.

Golfwizard - sounds like you have an updater (legitimate or otherwise) a trojan, worm or something that is trying to get on the internet. Your issue is unrelated to Internet Exploder. You need to scan for viruses/scumware
