I have been using Outlook for years but I could never
send emails ever since I upgraded to 2002. when start Outlook or I hit send a prompt ask me for

Postoffice:?
Mailbox:?
Password:?

Where do I find these? I don't remember asigning
anything like that. Does it do that automatic?
Can I stop it from asking me for that?
Heelllllpppppp!

Not knowing how your mail system is set up (pop3, exchange, etc.), I can only try to point you in the right direction. Open outlook and go to Tools/Options, go to the "Mail Setup" tab then click the e-mail accounts button. Select view or change existing e-mail accounts then click next. Make sure there is at least one account set up in the main window. If not you will need to configure your incoming and outgoing mail server.

freaser,

If you are working in Outlook 2002 at work, you should contact your help desk for the proper server names and settings.

If you are working from home, is this a personal account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or are you accessing your Company remotely?

luceze (Eric) is correct in looking for the current settings. Either it would be Internet Mail (an ISP) or MS Exchange (obtain proper server information from your IT Department or help desk).

Microsoft Mail MAPI is my defualt. This is from home and sometimes my recruiters email sending contact forms and needing information back. It would be great to communicate back and forth. Even sit up a net meeting. But everytime I open Outlook it ask for those three things. If it not right or I close it It says I will not be able to sent emails off line. when I do try to send if I put in say Postoffice: juno which is my ISP
Mailbox: MY USER NAME
Password: And the passwork for that account.
I do not get the work offline deal, so when I click send it send it to outbox and think once I resent it from there and it worked. But that was a long time ago and I may have reinstall Outlook many times after that.

Freaser,

My best advice would be to contact Juno for assistance, they will be able to provide for you, the proper server information to create your email account for use with Outlook.

Until you have their POP3 and sMTP information, you will not get this to work with Juno. I have a feeling, however, that like AOL, they don't just give that information out to their users.

Especially if you are on a free account. If they require use of their software to send/receive email, its more than likely they will not support the use of Outlook. If they don't provide the information at the very least, you have no hope of getting your email via Outlook.

Contact Juno and ask for their help to configure Outlook, if they won't help, then ask them point blank...

What are the POP3 and SMPT server names used for my email account.

If they won't give you that, sorry... no hope. And in that case you will have to deal with this Outlook prompt business... unless you create a bogus account which will do you no good other than to be able to open and close Outlook, you will not be able to use it for juno email unless you can gather those 2 bits of info.

If you do, we can work from there but if they give you that, they will probably help you configure Outlook.

good luck...

I'll come back later today to see if you have obtained that info.
