Hi,

I have a Siemens phonemail system (1 node) that used to be part of a network. After following instructions to delete it from the network, I began to get all kinds of database errors (fixdata/fixvoice doesn't help). I would like to format the hd and load from disk. How do I format the drive? I've been told that there is a special engineering logon that must be used, but no one seems to know what it is!

Thanks!

try:

If Siemens hasn't reset it you will be brought into the technicians admin console. Be sure your have your disk before you begin this process as all will be lost. Might want to get out a pen and write down your settings or print them out.

first if i were you i would do a fixupdatabase followed by a fixvoice before i go formating the hard drive. what release is the phonemail

This works : take your IPL disks and look at them on your A: drive on your computer. There is a folder/file called disktool. Here is the fun part. Rename the resetpassword file something else (doesn't matter what) and rename the disktool file ResetPassword (rename it exactly how it was named on the IPL). Next, reboot the phonemail and enter the ROM command mode (p/w = techtest) Enter B to boot and choose to Boot from Floppy. When login prompt comes up, login and enter ?. Choose Resetpassword and baddabing baddaboom, you will access the Disktool. You will be able to format hard drives there.

Thank you to everyone who responded to this thread. I really appreciate all of your help! Special thanks to Nunofan who gave me exactly what I needed!

Thanks again!
