I have used the record macro function in Excel 97 to run an advanced filter. the macro runs fine with the quick key and when I click on the macro and hit run it also works fine.

Can someone please tell me how to transfer this module to a command button to make running it easier?

View / Toolbars / Forms

Click on the grey button icon on this toolbar and draw a button on your spreadsheet. You should then have a box pop up asking you what macro you wish to assign to the button. Haven't used 97 for a while, so if it doesn't, then try right clicking on the button and select 'Assign a macro'.

Thanks Ken

That Was so easy I feal stupid having wasted so much time trying to do it myself. (too much male ego I guess)

Everything's easy when you know how - It's just getting to that stage that's hard :-)

Just out of interest, did the 'assign macro' box pop up automatically when you inserted the button, or did you have to right click on the button to get it?

Regards
Ken...........

Yes it popped-up automatically
