I have upgraded Office 2000 Pro to Office XP Pro and then applied all Office XP service packs.

Now, each time I start Outlook, the Windows installer opens a screen (twice) with the message "Preparing to install", which is quickly closed.

I do not see any problem afterwards.

I suspect the upgrade failed to delete certain registry entries under KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Components\,
but which ones?

Anyone know what to do to stop this annoying problem?
