I have a table with several fields, but the one's in question are:

NAME ID, PREFIX, LAST NAME, & SALUTATION

I would like to fill the SALUTATION field by using the PREFIX and LAST NAME field--how can I do this?

Make a new column in your query like this:

Salut: [Prefix] & " " & [LAST NAME]

If the salutation is always the prefix and the last name, you can just calculate the salutation whenever you need it, no need to store it in the table. If you need to vary the salutation or have some strange requirement to store it then you can run an update query and put the code after the colon in the update line of your update query.
