I have a service that is stuck in starting. I can not stop it because the option is grayed out.

In task manager I get an access denied when I try to kill the task.

How can I stop the service in question?

Is this a standard service that comes with Windows (if so please identify). Does the service have any dependencies on other services in order to start?

You wont be able to do anything with the service whilst it is in that state. You will need to reboot the server, based on what the startup status is it will be started or stopped. If you dont want it to run, then change the startup status to disabled.
