I had installed ARCserveit 6.61 b834 on my PDC (NT4), and now I have another server that I would like to use for backuping several machines.

So I uninstalled ARCserveit from my PDC, installed it on my new backup server, but I can't use it : the job engine doesn't start (E12002 : license failure)

When I try to manually start the job service from the control panel, I've got a 2140 internal NT error.

So how can I uninstall completely ARCserveit from my PDC ? There must be something remanent in registry or a remaining file somewhere...

If you know how I can solve that...

Thanks

First You've done all you need to do on the PDC. If you ever get audited, a small entry (if there even is one) in the PDC's registry will not be cause for license violation. Just make sure you only have it installed and in use on one server at a time. Don't worry about the registry remnants.

Second Have you run RegisterIT from the new server? It should be under the Start--->Programs menu in a RegisterIT folder. This is probably the cause of the problem. I had the same thing when I moved ArcServe from one box to another.

Let me know how this works out or if you've already done the RegisterIT... Monkeylizard
