I have 2 domains that are on the same network, and can both see each other. Is it possible to make 2 domain controllers share an active directory list?

2 windows 2000 servers
All on the same subnet
Both are primary domain controllers on their respective domains
They need to share username/passeword information for all users. Thanks!

Thanks!

if they're in different forests the best you can do is set up a trust.

How do I determine if they are/are not separate forests?

did you set both of them up? if so, when you ran DCPROMO, you'd have been given options pertaining to the type of DC you wanted to install. If you chose a "new DC in a new Forest" for each, then they're separate. The other way to tell is by going to the Forest root DC of one of these domains and trying to access the DC of the other domain. If you can't do it, they're separate....

More information to find.

Press start, programs, administration tools and select Domain and Trust. Here you can se if you have a transitiv trust to another domain, if it is so you have the domains in the same forrest.
