Ever since I came across this piece of software it has given me grief!
Even with indexing service performance cranked up to instant indexing, the 'index this resource' checkbox checked in IIS, and the 'index folder contents for fast searching' checked on the file system folders - Indexing Service REFUSES to index files that I am uploading from a web browser using an Active X upload component. Everything else is working fine - the files are in the right place, just not in the index.
Anyway, you get the idea. I found a Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - Q187505, that says some other processes like ant-virus software can interfere with the service. The server isn't running ant-virus software - anyone have any specific experience on which particular processes might be interfering? Or if the cause is something else completely?
I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
Thanks
Greg
