I downloaded windows 98 and now my printer won't work. My son gave me his printer which is a compaq but I can't get it to work either. any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? thanks.

When you refer to downloading Windows 98 are you talking the OS or a Windows 98 printer driver?...or are you talking that you installed Windows 98?
Did you have Windows 95 first???? Is that why the printer worked before? If so, you might need a Windows 98 printer driver to get the printer to work on Windows 98 Operating System.
Compaq should have a Windows 98 driver on their site for the compaq printer.
More information about the PC specs would be good, in case my suppostioning isn't right.
