I followed CISCO's PSWD Recovery Example and everything looked "Perfect" until the end. After the RESET cmd (at the ROMMON> prompt) I never got the OK and also noticed that the "#" where stretched "J". I did not think nothing about that because the example mentioned "it will be almost exctly" of what I would get. After that all I get when I start the router is this:

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuu|uuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuu|uuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuuuu|uuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuu|uuuu
uuuuuuuuuuu|uuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
|uuu|uuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu|uuuuuuuuuuuuuuòš t#šGT#š

I can't see anything I understand and there is no prompt what so ever. Has anyone seen this? I have just started to use these routers (newbie).
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Have you tried throwing the random break sequence in to bring it back to RMON?

Not sure what the "random break sequence" is. Is it the CRTL-BREAK key sequence that I used to get to start the whole PSWD RESET process? If so, then yes I tried and that no longer gets me to any prompt.

I would check your terminal settings:

9600 Baud Rate

8 data bits

no parity

2 stop bits

no flow control

Sounds like you never set the config register back to 0x2102 after the password reset procedure , this should be done prior to reloading the switch .

If you are getting garbage then you will have to fool around with your terminal emulator settings , you have changed the config register settings and it's probably not 9600,8,n,1 for the console anymore . Try different speeds and see if this gets you anywhere.
