Is this a common bug?
I'm in the code builder area. I type As and it crashes. I can also do this in the debug window.

I might revise that. Lately access has become insanely unstable. Are there any recommendations on improving this?

Here's a classic Microsoft tech support line: "Re-install Windows". But not first. Try these (in order):

--Compact/Repair your database and see if that fixes the problem.

--Try and figure out if your database is corrupted. If you don't mind, you can import all the objects into a new database and a fresh MDB. This loses some information (such as form placement/sizing, *security permissions and ownership info*, etc). The problem may disappear with your new database file.

--Totally uninstall and then re-install office.

--Re-install Windows. Depending on which version you're using, you may have the "quick install" that just copies over a lot of files and usually fixes the problem, instead of the "clean format" variant.

Maybe you're thinking "that's a lot of work", but it might be less work if you go in the above order than, say:

--spend hours troubleshooting

--compact database

--spend hours troubleshooting

--move random DLL files from other computer

--spend hours troubleshooting
--spend hours troubleshooting
--spend hours troubleshooting
--reinstall Windows anyway

oh. goody.
Well thanx. I'll look into that
