I am new to Oracle but familiar with ANSII SQL. I am taking a class and the reference book suggested is "Introduction to Oracle SQL and PL/SQL" from University Press.

I would prefer not spending $250.00 on a good Oracle SQL reference. I would like a book that could later be used as a desk reference.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bill,

I have always been VERY impressed with the quality and readability of the "Oracle Press" series (not owned by Oracle Corporation; owned by Osborne/McGraw-Hill). They are all available via Amazon.com. Their titles are intuitive to their topic. They are reasonably priced. Their resale values are very good provided you don't let your dog chew on it (or do other no-no's).

Cheers,

Dave
