The best way to study for the MCDBA is to:
1) Setup Windows 2000 and work with it
2) Setup SQL Server 2000 and work with it
- Make sure you know the t-sql commands, the test likes to ask questions about that...
On the 228 test I faced a lot of questions about the backup and the bulk load features.
I haven't taken the 229 test yet, as 228 completed my MCSE but if you have a few months of experence working with SQL, know the commands and how the basics work you can probably pass 228 without much trouble.
Now, if you haven't worked with the Windows 2000 as an Administrator you will need to study the Active Directory features, setting up the servers, network or secuirty design, etc as you have to take several of the server tests to get your MCDBA...
You may also find some value in going after the Oracle cert.
Hope this helps ya out! CJ
