hyperterminal

Hello all,

I am using hyperterminal to access a E3000 server. It works fine except when I vi. In which case it scrolls about 6 lines past the beginning of the file. If I move the cursor to the top and then to the right, it overwrites what was there with what is in the very first line. Anyone know how to fix this? Here is a visual since I suck at explaining:

line2 here
line3
line4
line5
line6
========================================top of editable area
line7
line8
etc


If I move cursor to top and right:

line1
line2
line3
line4
line5
line6
========================================top of editable area
line1_
line8
etc

Have you tried exporting your TERM? Before you vi a file, type:

TERM=vt100
export TERM

See if that helps.
