Hyperterminal - comreads & comused... Huh?

I use W2K's Hyperterminal through COM1 to connect to my router for parameter changes etc. Why does it produce COMREAD.DBG and COMUSED.DBG files each time I run it. The connection to the router works fine - can I prevent these files from being produced? I'm on SP3 if it's of any consequence...
