Hyperlinks do not respond at runtime

I am using CR10... have created a VB6 viewer with the ActiveX control. Works mostly fine except that I have a hyperlink on the VENDOR field of my report. When the user clicks on it, I want it to launch a small exe that allows them to place a digital signature on the report.

The hyperlink works in CR10 Designer, but not in my VB6 viewer.

There is a support doc on the BO kbase here:

but this only applies to CR8 and I do have Drilldown enabled, so I'm not sure what else could be the problem.

I guess I don't understand how this would place a signature on the report, but I would consider placing the signatures in a database and selecting them via a parameter or soem such.

I need some help with this issue. I have narrowed it down to the fact that my hyperlink passes parameters. If I remove the parameters, the app launches.

Can someone else try this for me? If you have a VB viewer that uses the RDC... can you put a simple hyperlink on one of your reports like this for example:
"notepad c:\test.txt"

And let me know if it works? I'm trying to figure out if I've done something funny with the RDC. OR if this is a consistent behaviour. I've got a case logged with BO/Crystal (whatever they are called these days) and I'm getting nowhere fast.

It seems that the hyperlink does not work only from the application end and everything has worked well in the Crystal Report Designer without any issues. As such, there is no issue related to working of hyperlink from the application end.

Above is a response I received, which is totally unhelpful. I need to narrow down if this is just me or if it's the same for others too... if anyone take a sec to try it and post your result, I'd be grateful.
