When inserting a HYPERLINK in a WORD document, I don't want the dir link to be 'hardcoded', like "C:\dir1\dir2". I would like to tell it to use the same directory as the current DOC is, ".\", or its parent, ("..\").

Is this possible?
The main reason I need this is because the recepients of my multiple docs, do not have the same directory structure.

Thank you all

Try saving it as an HTML file and naming the link like that? Darrell Mozingo

I can't use html because we utilize the 'versions' feature which only works in .doc files.
But I tested it anyhow, and without trying too much, I could not get it to take a file name without the path.

I thought I was on to something when I came across 'base hyperlink address' in the properties panel, but I seem to be missing something there as well.
