hyperlink colors when using FP themes

Hi again:
I tried to change the color of the hyperlinks when using FrontPage Theme. I figured out where to got to change it and I changed it to a different color but when tried to see it in a browser, the color is still black (which I think is the default here). Why didn't color change?
This is what I did: Format>THeme>Modify button>colors>Custom. It let me change the hyperlinks color right there. Am I doing this wrong?
Any suggestions would be appreciated....

That should be the correct place to make the change. When you finish making the changes in the theme editor, are you saving the theme - or saving the theme to a different name?
