This is the 2nd system to do this to me. Both systems are IPO 500 running 4.1.12 w/ vmpro. HG will not follow the out of service fallback. 1st system to do this to me I had to get creative and I found a work around. 2nd system is for a High School and is running full AA. They want to be able to remotely change the service mode through the AA to set main HG to Out of Service in the event of bad weather. I've done this before and it's pretty straight forward. However; this one will not work no matter what I've tried. I shouldn't have to try any tricks for a HG to follow a fallback. Has anyone else come across this? If so, does 4.1.15 fix it? Any input appreciated.

How are you getting the fallback to work? Are you using time services of manual?

I had to use a time profile. It was kind of odd, but it worked. My problem is that you shouldn't have to do this at all on something as simple as a fallback.

If the only way to get to the huntgroup is through the AA you can change the path the call takes in in VMPro using "User variables".

Or you should be able to tranfser to a shortcode setting the huntgroup out of service.

Let me clarify. I can change the HG to out of service via SC, but it won't follow the the fallback. If I put HG 5000 into Out of Svc with the Out of Svc HG being 5005, it will ring the Out of Svc group but the main HG will pull the call back and play the regular day greeting instead of the Out of Svc greeting. I think I'm just going to upgrade to 4.1.15 and hope for the best.

thats how its meant to work, always hits voicemail of originating group

If you want it to play a message from the Out of Service group use a Queue message since they are different for each group.

As TomMills said that is how the system is supposed to work and always has worked that way. To do what you want just record the Out of Hours Greeting in the original huntgroups mailbox as well as the standard greeting then when the call gets pulled back it will play the out of hours greeting when it out of service and the standard greeting when it's in service. The instructions are in the Voicemail user guide on how to do this.
