Hunt group question

Ip office 6.0, I need to know how to make the second call to the hunt group ring on a phone that is off hook, I know how to make it flash on the next CA (collective call waiting) but if the recept takes the first call, the second call doesn't ring on her phone. Trying to make it work like their existing Norstar. Thanks for any help.

you need to look at the internal auto-answer facility with the FF option for external calls, this requires a headset capable handset and headset to work

Never tried it with a call connected though, it may not work in that way

why take the norstar out then?

stop making it work like the norstar, program the features that do work on the IPO and discuss with the customer this IS A DIFFERENT SWITCH and get a good trainer in!

Norstar doesn't do VOIP, is one reason. I just want it to work right for the customer, be nice to know when a second call comes in.

TBH sounds like a cr4p feature, I would be very annoyed if I was talking to someone who was in fact talking to a second caller that was auto connected

If you have a spare CA on the phone, it should give a short ring to let you know there is another call and also give you the details on the screen.

I see the CA flashing but did not hear a ring, I do see the caller ID in my display, Thanks, I'll try again tomorrow.

u normally get a "Peep" in the ear. the 16xx / 96xx series handsets do it better than the 54xx/56xx

You can make it ring.

Go to the user -> telephony -> Multiline options and change that setting to Ring.


Abbreviated Ring selects a single non-repeated ring. No Ring disables audible ringing. Note that each button's own ring settings (Immediate, Delayed Ring or No Ring) are still applied.

· The ring used for a call alerting on a call coverage or bridged appearance button will vary according to whether the user is currently connected to a call or not.

· If not currently on a call, the Coverage Ring setting is used.

· If currently on a call, the quieter of the Coverage Ring and Attention Ring settings is used.
