Hello!

I have a Norstar MICS 6.0 system and a small office comprising of 6 phones. I would like to have an incoming call ring on the secretary's phone, and if he/she doesn't answer after about 4 rings, it will ring on the other 5 phones.

I assumed it was feasible through hunt groups so I set the secretary on a hunt group (707) and the other 5 phones on another (708). Overflow is set and lines are assigned to 707. However, when the incoming call comes through, all phones ring. Am I missing something?

Extra Credit: I don't know if this is possible, but if the secretary is on line 1, and an incoming call comes to line 1, I would like it to be pushed to line 2. If line 2 is taken, then it will be pushed to line 3. It is ok if this is not possible, but it would be a nice feature.

Thanks for your help

That is the carrier, they control the hunt sequence on the lines.

As for Hunt Groups you must remove the lines from all phones that are a member of a HG for HG to work properly, see Sys Co-or doc.

Another way is set your Call Forward No Answer under Sets/X221/Capabilities to 707

I have gotten rid of the line assignment, but the phone still rings throughout the office. How can I make all calls go to the secretary (221)?

Look at the phones and see if they have an answer dn key of her extension.
