My office is in the Chicagoland area in area code 630. We are getting charged approx. 21 cents a minute for local calls over 15 miles. When I enter the command disp ars and I get a dialed string of "1" and another of "1630" (among others). Those to values also have different route patterns, which I could guess would be for long distance and local.

So I have two questions: 1) do I need to add the other areas codes (i.e.: 312, 773, 815, etc.) to the list and 2) which route pattern do I use?

mike41,

Use command list ars route chosen (area code) will tell which route pattern is assigned for that area code. then you can modify the route pattern for local and long distance trunks.
