Well today I made a little video, just 28 seconds, and a combination of 4 images and 4 little 500Kb clips. When i exported it, it was 23MB....

how can i optimize and keep my videos small. i mean to test this, i tried just importing a 500kb clip, adding noting to it, and then i exported my movie and it was 3MB!!! 600% increase!!

any tips/ideas?

It sounds like you are exporting to an uncompressed AVI file - is this true?

It would help to know your project settings, but for now I'll assume NTSC 720x480 at 30 fps with some sort of audio. Uncompressed for 30 secs gives about the file size you mention.

If you want your output smaller, you'll have to try a compressed format (mpg, mov, rm, etc) to get a smaller file size. But it really depends on what you want your final format to be (where is the video to be played - computer, console DVD player, ??).

If you can give some more info as to what exactly you are trying to do, better direction can be given.

well it was,

video for windows, 400*400, 29.97 frames/second, 30fps

thanks for helping out
