Hello all good helpers.
I have just installed "Apache http server" and "Sun ONE ASP" on my XP home edition. Say I want to execute C:\ASP\test1.asp.
What do I specify in the address field ?
will not work for me.
ServerName localhost
Kindly regards.

Hello CamaroLT.
Thank you very much, I am sure that must be the solution.
However I tried to change UserDir "C:/ASP" in member httpd.conf but it still will not work when I type:

I also don't know where is the default directory where Apache serves out it's files, but try this:

Type:
Check which page shows up, then find that page, and you got your default server dir, then just move your asp file there and call it as suggested in the post above.

If it is giving you too many problems, get Win XP Pro and you get the best web server for ASP with it, free, called IIS.

If you haven't heard of it, then you most likely don't need it.

Now I'm not 100% certain, but I'm not sure ASP is supported under Apache by default. Don't trust me on this one at all. To see if it does, try just making a generic HTML page in the proper spot and see if you can browse to it. If the HTML page works, but the ASP page doesn't, you might have to do some research and find the add-in is for the ASP page. I *BELEIVE* that ASP is a MSoft deal, so, by default, clean install, Apache, again, may not support it directly.

You may also have to shut down and restart the Apache Server before it will recognize where the directory for the pages are supposed to be, IF you've changed after its been running.

ASP is not part of Apache by default, but I beleive it can be added in some sort of variation, he said he's using (Sun ONE ASP), it might not be 100% compatible with MS ASP, but that's not the issue.

If you haven't heard of it, then you most likely don't need it.

Hello.
Finally I've understood that Apache is using DocumentRoot as one PATH to ASP pages. I will work it out from there to find other PATH.
Thank to all of you which have responded.
You all deserve a star.
Kindly regards.

Hey,
I've got a site that has just been put on an apache server and now there are a couple strange errors??..when connecting to the server/database..

Are there compatibility issues with ASP and Apache? I'm all ears for any suggestions of areas that I might want to look at..
