HTML Page formatting when sending a mail

Help,
I was tinkering around with Lotus Notes. There was one setting where u can set the characters in a line, so i set it to 12. Now the mails that I compose are being sent as lines consisting of 12 characters (i think this is for HTML messages, i am not sure). I have to revert it back to how it was, but i can find no trace of this option. Can anybody help me out here ? "Maturity is overrated"
