I'm using Dreamweaver 4 (Mac) to create HTML emails for a company. The emails call out to some very small GIF files that reside on the company's server. Whenever the email blast goes out (to a list of a few thousand people), the company's server crashes. ... I'm thinking it may present too much of a strain on the server, but the company who's in charge of distributing the emails says they can't stagger the emails. Also, the MIS dept. insists that the NT server should be powerful enough to handle this. ... Any idea how we can fix this?  Thanks.

That's pretty strange.
I don't think it's the server. In fact it's probably something to do with the company that distributes them.
They should really look into it to help you out.

I also create HTML email Newsletters and I also distribute them. I always set it up to stagger the e-mails. In fact I can set up the time I want it to go out.

Maybe you need to change companies.
Surely they have other clients and don't send them all at the same time??
