I will start by apologising if I am in the wrong forum but I cannot find anywhere more specific at present.
I am looking for some basic information to help me retrieve the screen displays from my HP spectrum analyser - normally available via the HPIB/GPIB interface. I have no need to control the equipment from my pc and have no suitable interface card for this protocol.
I'm not sure if it is possible to achieve my goal here as the need is infrequent, the funds are extremely limited, and ny capacity for learning anything new seems to be diminishing at an ever increasing rate! I'm sure my colleagues would attribute this to senility but I can't admit to that just yet.....
Does anyone have any knowledge which may help find a simple way to retrieve this data, or perhaps point me to a more appropriate forum?

Thank you for your indulgence,
John

Sometimes HP would include a regular serial port that could be used for simple data captures. Any chance your analyser has one?
