I have a Visualize C3600, S700 running HP-UX 10.20.
The company for whom I work develops a Motif, C++ application for which I am trying to determine a solution for a reproduceable bug.

When I sit at the actual workstation and open a particular window and close it a few times, it eventually crashes out the application. The message is either "memory fault" or "bus error" and it always dumps a zero-size core file. Wait, there's more.

When I Exceed in to this system from my desktop PC, I experience the same issue.

However, when I Exceed in from my laptop, I cannot get it to crash. Weird?

I have to believe that it must be something in regards to whatever drives the resident monitor on that system, as well as the monitor on my desktop PC (19" monitors).

But, finding the right, if any, patch for this issue is, well, like finding a bit in a bucket ;-)

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?

Thanks in advance!

Add to this oddness, I telnet'd in FROM a TadPole SparcBook IIe, set my DISPLAY back to the TadPole, launched the application, and I can't get the app to crash like I can when I access it on the HP directly or from my desktop PC via Exceed.

So, both my laptop (Toshiba) and sparcbook (TadPole) have no problem, yet my desktop and the HP directly have issues. Common to the laptop and sparcbook: monitors built into the system. Common to the HP and my desktop PC: both have large color monitors.

What gives?
