HELLO AGAIN FRIENDS AND THANKS FOR LOOKING. I LOWER MY HEAD IN TOTAL SHAME HERE. I AM ALMOST TO EMBARRASSED TO SAY THIS...BUT I AM UNABLE TO MAKE A BIOS FLASH DISKETTE!!! I HAVE JUST PURCHASED 5 HP VL400'S WITH PENTIUM 3 866 CHIPS IN THEM. WHEN I POWER THEM UP ALL ARE SAYING BIOS CPU MICROCODE NO RECOGNIZED. Ive CHECKED THE HEWLETT PACKARD SITE AND INDEED MY BIOS IS QUITE AN OLD ONE. I CAN SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE THIS BIOS DISKETTE BUT I JUST CANT WORK IT OUT....IT SAYS TO MAKE A SYSTEM DISKETTE.I PRESUME THEY MEAN A WINDOWS 98 BOOT DISK TYPE THING?? THEN IT SAYS TO COPY A FILE TO????? AND THIS IS WHERE I LOSE THE PLOT. CAN ANYONE GIVE IT TO ME IN PLAIN ENGLISH?? THE LINK TO THE BIOS PAGE IS HERE..OW YES AND ONE MORE THING THE FILE THAT I HAVE DOWNLOADED(SYSTEM DISK FLASHABLE BIOS) DOES NOT BOOT THE MACHINE. I'M TOTALLY LOST PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I JUMP OUT OF THE WINDOW!!!!!

First, next time, please turn off Caps Lock...

You have to run the downloaded file to actually get the files they are telling you to copy.

o Create a boot disk. You'll need about 900KB free on this disk after creation
o Download the file vdf764en.exe
o (I think this is where you lose the thread) Keep the boot disk in A: drive, and run the file just downloaded, telling it place the files in A:\

sorry about the caps lock freestone. I have done what you suggested and everything is now fine. Thanks very much for your help.
