HP V40 Printer

I have an HP V40 printer which comes with an on-screen director for the scan, fax, copy, and print modes. It worked fine in Win 98, but does not operate in Win XP. We were told that HP was working on a new driver to solve the problem. Anyone know if this has been accomplished or is there another way to get this working?

The v40 will and can scan in xp. the trick is to use 3rd party software and not the buttons off the machine itself. try using programs like paint or photoshop or even imaging to scan and it should work. paint is in windows under:
startbutton//accessories//paint
and the scan is under file. gl fh ;->
