HP psc 1210 all in one scanning settings

I have a large number of photos I want to scan as .jpg's.
In Settings/Scan Settings & Pref/Scan picture settings , I have selected "save as .jpg", checked 'apply', then 'ok'. However, when I scan the photos, it continues to save them as .tiff's. I don't want .tiff's - I want .jpg's. Can someone tell me how to accomplish this?

Use a third party software photos.

Never give up never give in.

There are no short cuts to anything worth doing :)
