I'm have a problem with our print server and was hoping someone here could help me out. The drivers for the 8100 printers somehow got corrupt...i can't go into any property pages on those printers, it gives me a protection fault...and ofcourse any client that doesn't already have the drivers that tries to add a new printer, gets the corrupted drivers copied over to their computer and they can't get into properties either...sometimes they can't even print. All other printer models work fine...so I'm pretty sure it's just the 8100 drivers.
So...I tried going into the printer/server properties on the print server and removing the 8100 drivers so I can reinstall them...i get an error saying these drivers are in use and cannot be removed. I tried stopping and restarting the spooler service, and made sure no other services that would use them are running (stopped hp jetdirect)...and I still can't get them removed! I even rebooted the server....it's bout 7:30 and I know nobody is using the printers...anybody have any ideas on how to remove the drivers so I can try to reinstall them?
Thanks,
Mike
