HP Pavilion 6535 finally just quit working. Couldn't keep
up long enough to run diagnostics. Replaced provided version
of WIN98SE with straight WIN98 and everything works well,
except cannot find sound chip. HP says its a Cirrus PCI chip - Sys won't recognize with downloaded (and setup) drivers from Cirrus. Won't recognize driver from HP CDRom.

HP suggests installing 3rd part sound card - but looks like no room...

Now what? any suggestions?

We DID that, and did it again under tutelage of the HP tech support guy: that's what I meant by
"Won't recognize driver from HP CDRom."
--sky
