Hi

System info:

System: HP Pavilion 7965
System Board: Asus A7M266-M
BIOS: Phoenix 3.09
Monitor: HP MX70
O/S: Win XP

Problem:

The MX70 monitor has a mic positioned on top of the screen, the mic has a connector out of the montior cable that plugs into the Mic socket on the back on the main board, we cannot get the mic to work, we have also tried a seperate mic pluged into the socket on the main board and that does not work but we know that this mic is fine and working OK.

We have tried:

All of the usual fixes checking volume control on mic etc and have gone through the whole of the HP site help info, we even emailed HP and got an answer to check setting which we did but still no joy.

The BIOS does not seem to have any setting that need to be enabled to make the mic work.

I am at a complete loss at what to do next, is there anyway I can check to see if the Mic connector on the mobo is working OK.

System information is showing no problem devices and the Device Manager has no Yellow ?'s

Any answer will be appreciated.

Make sure the mike is not muted in your system mixer.

Have you tried enabling the Language Bar?
right-click the Taskbar, Toolbars, checkmark the Language Bar.

If you've tried more than one mic and checked to see if the audio is set up correctly in control panel and device manager then I would say you have a defective motherboard. Sorry.
