HP LJ 2300 Toner Reset + service menu

I have a problem with an HP LJ 2300 toner. The toner is newly installed, but the printer doesn't seem to notice it. He still asks me to replace it. Does anybody know how to resolve this problem?
Other thing is that the "service"-menu is locked and nobody here knows the code to enter it. Any tips on unlocking this?

Two possibles here. (at least what I've run into.) Is the cart. a genuine HP cart.? The printer has auto cart. detection, and most of the refub, refills, and such don't report cart. status. The printer also states "Cartridge Installed" for about 10 seconds on printer startup. It is easy to confuse that message with "Cartridge Not Installed", or "No Cartridge Installed".
