My hp laserjet 5550DTN gets a paper jam in the top cover area every time you try to print something. I have tried removing the fuser and all the cartridges and putting them back as well as oiling the printer but nothing seems to work. Hope someone can help because I need to print something important soon.

Take off top cover. Look at the exit flag on the delivery assy. is moving correctly. Blow out any dust on the sensor.
Print supplies page to see the fuser %. if below 15-20%, replace. It may have gone bad anyway. No error codes?

laser Printers do not need oiling, introducing oil into a high temperature device presents a real risk of fire.

Lubrication when needed(rarely)should be provided by a high temp silicon grease and only by a trained technician.

If you are getting paper jams in the top cover, then the fault is most likely with the exit rollers. it is possible they are worn and have a flat spot, this is a fairly common fault(Paper is abrasive). The real solution is to replace them, also if you are having this problem, your roller sets throughout the printer will more than likely need replacing as well.
