This printer is kicking a Printer Error 79.00FE whenever I try to print a Menu Map or any other item from the Control Menus. It also gives this error when printing certain .pdf documents, but not all.

I have upgraded the firmware to the latest available and still having the same problem. Any ideas about how to correct this problem?

Thank You!

Eva

If not allready using one, try to use a PS driver as these tend to run the jobs faster than the PCL5e or PCL6 driver. Also info on whether the printer is in a network or connected via a parallel cable might have something to say.

Greetings Evaleah,

Adobe have some information on PDF-related problems at their site:

According to various sources, this problem can be caused by software/drivers, memory PCA's, font macro personality cartridges, or optional I/O cards. Alternaticely, you may need to replace the formatter PCA.

Try the following:
1. Cycle power.
2. Reset inteface cable
3. Remove Dimms, cycle power
4. Replace Parallel interface
5. Remove EIO cards, perform cold reset
6. Replace formatter.

I trust that this might solve - or at least identify - the problem.

Kindest regards,

James
