Hi everybody.
i just got two HP 700 series PA-RISC workstations.
These were used as servers so the do not have a graphics card.
I also do not have an HP-HIL keyboard yet. Does anybody know where to get these??
In the meantime i wanted to try to get to this thing remotely.
There is also only a AUI LAN connection, but i am already bidding on a transceiver at ebay ;)
I found an old 3com EISA combo NIC and plugged it in.
If I interpret the LED codes during bootup correctly, the LAN INIT is successful.
After trying to boot up and removing 2 bad RAM´s, the machine is coming up with following LED Error code: 8-6-3-1.
According to the manual, the error description
is 'Autoselection failure to find boot device'.
Yet this machine does have a hard disk, but i am unsure if this means, it physically cannot boot or just does not find an OS?
The HDD is phisically running (i can hear it/feel the warmth after trying to boot).
AFAIK the HDD's were not formatted and most likely should have an OS on disk. Also i only terminated the 'FAST WIDE SCSI' connector and 'single ended SCSI' rear panel connectors. I also tried it with only terminating the 'FAST WIDE SCSI Out' connector, but problem persist.
SCSI ID for the internal HDD is 0 like it should be.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.

sebrOck, who is sure there are a lot of HP lovers who can help me getting started with those babies. ;)
