I've got an HP 1220c hooked up to a Win98 box and when I print to it from a W2k Pro box it crashes. Even a test page will cause the desktop to disappear and all that is left is the test page window, I can still control+alt+delete but it doesn't show anything in the applications tab. It doesn't appear that anything is taking up processor power. It just crashes. I've moved the printer from a couple of different 98 boxes but I always get the same result. The network is a workgroup and the WIN2k box can print to other printers fine. I've got the latest drivers and the 2k box is up to date on patches.

I've been digging through forums and tech articles for a few days now. If anyone can help me... please by all means... do so.

Thanks a million

I'm digging into the problem deeper and I'm noticing that I can not ping the pc named Jennifer, using NetBeui, I have to use her IP address. This is not the case with any of the other pc's on the network. I can't seem to ping this pc with any other computers either... hmmm..

my own private thread here.

I resolved the not being able to ping problem. The subnet masks did not match. Now when I connect via network neighborhood or through the add printer wizard it tells me that The printer is no longer available or the name may have changed. I'm going to reload the printer again.

Hi
Problem seems to be between the video and the printer drivers.
Try reinstalling mobo, printer and the video drivers.
